Jesus Stands

She was brought before Him
An example to be made
A trap set out to snare Him
A woman clothed in shame

Sin thrust in the open
Sinner fails, condemned
Saviour stands among them
Satan falls, condemned

And there Jesus stands
Between accuser and accused
With nail-pierced hands
And body bruised

He is our refuged and our shield
The horn of our salvation
And our accuser must yield
To the King of all nations

Glory unattained
But grace is given freely
Redemption ours to claim
